1996 Triumph Tiger 900

For Sale March 2010

1996 Triumph Tiger 900

My 1996 Triumph Tiger 900
I bought this bike in July 2009 from Richardsons in Ripley with just 5600 miles on the clock.
The paperwork shows the first owner bought it on 24 June 2006, kept it for 3 years, covering about 1000 miles / year, with a stamped service book showing 3075 miles on 1 July 1999.
The second owner bought it from the original supplying dealer (Carl Rosner, South Croydon) on 18th Nov 1999.
There is an MOT from January 2000 showing the milage at 3248, he covered a further 2300 miles over the next 3 years then stored the bike until Richardsons bought it off him, changed the carbs and brake fluid, then sold it to me.
The new MOT on 28 july 2009 shows the mileage at 5552.
I put a new fuel tap on it (the seals on the old one leaked petrol), changed the oil, filter and sump plug, a new set of D220 tyres and 2 new headlamp bulbs.
I have ridden 3400 miles in the last six months on it.
As the photos show it has Givi Monokey pannier and topbox mounts with two 33L Triumph badged Givi monokey boxes.
The bike feels very planted and has a terrific, comfortable riding position.
The 885cc 3 cylinder motor has lots of torque but revs freely, I have averaged 43mpg during my ownership.
It is in good condition, but is a 14 year old bike so has a few scratches and some paint flaked of the side of the engine (see photos)
The seat has a tiny hole in the cover (see pics), but has got no worse in my ownership.
Ideally I would keep it, but I can't justify 2 bikes at the moment.
It comes with two ignition / petrol cap / seat lock keys and three pannier keys.
